If you have a Vaulted or Cathedral Ceiling in your home consider yourself lucky! I love Vaulted ceilings. I think they are so beautiful and can add so much depth and interest to an open space. Some people aren’t fond of high ceilings because they think it’s hard to make a room feel cozy, but I disagree. If you choose the right paint colour and the right furnishing and artwork your can have a gorgeous warm and cozy space. Plus, if you love large chandeliers like I do, a vaulted ceiling offers the perfect space to hang one!
This bedroom feels so inviting. Love the chandelier and JuJu Hat above the bed. Here is a link for a great DIY African JuJu Hat from the blog Lilyfield Life. My recommendation for painting vaulted ceilings is to try to keep them white or cream depending on the colour of the walls. Another option is to use a ratio of 20% colour/80% white. This way, you will have a more subtle effect and the space will seem unified. Whatever colour you use on the ceiling repeat it on the trim. Love the use of the brown throughout this living room below and the Beni Ourain rug. So cozy! Look how beautiful the light is in this room and check out that chandelier. Gorgeous! Another option is to use the same colour of the walls on the ceiling. I would only suggest this if you use a lighter neutral colour and have a rail, beams or moulding that you can paint white or cream to break it up. Otherwise you room will seem like too much of one paint colour. I also love the look of the natural wood especially if it is repeated throughout the rest of the room with either wood trim or accessories or wood flooring. How gorgeous is this bedroom!!!! This bedroom feels like a relaxing retreat. What are your thoughts on Vaulted or Cathedral Ceilings?
