I am obsessed with Orchids. I love them so much I have one in almost every room of my house. I use them to decorate often because they are so elegant and have a unique shape. They add beauty and interest to any room and just look so pretty! But I can never get them to bloom more than once for me. I have researched online and talked to the kind folks at flower and gardening stores, fertilized them and given them a ton of TLC and no luck! So what is a gal to do?
I found a super easy solution…add a faux stem to my plants.Yes it’s that easy! Now I can have a beautiful orchid that looks like it is blooming all the time. The plant is real, the leaves keep growing and you need to keep watering it but it just has a faux stem.
The key is to find a stem that looks as real as possible. I go to Chintz and Co. and can spend up to $24 on a stem but it looks so real you need to get really close and feel it to realize it is not.
Here is a picture of my orchid before all the flowers fell off.
You will need a faux orchid stem in any colour you choose and some wire cutters. When the flowers fall off cut the stem just under the last bloom. See how to cut and care for an orchid here.
Cut the faux orchid stem with the wire cutters and insert into plant and clamp it onto the post in the pot.
And VOILA! Your orchid looks beautiful again.
