Finally our basement suite renovation is complete! For awhile there I never thought we would see this day 🙂 Here are a few before and after pics.
Before the basement was in a U shape due to a brick fireplace that was dead smack in the middle of the space. So the first thing we did was remove that fireplace and gained a ton of space.
Here is the before look from the living room to the kitchen. Don’t look at the crazy mess in the kitchen we were just about to have a garage sale and it was our storage area.
Here is the kitchen downstairs when we moved in…Ugly! we didn’t do much at that time sinc we just moved in and had budget restraints. We just added some used oak cabinets we painted and new countertops and flooring and some paint. Sorry I can’t find a full picture of the kitchen after we cleaned it up a bit.
Here is the space after. You can see how much room we gained from removing the fireplace. We moved the front door from the kitchen to the side of the house for better access.
The bathroom before
The bathroom after. We moved it over a bit so unfortunately lost a window.
I was able to stage the kitchen and bathroom and really wanted to stage the living room and bedroom to get that WOW factor but unfortunately I don’t have a supply of furniture sitting around so here is the living room, front hall and bedroom looking boring 🙂
I’m so happy this project is done and I’m ready for the next one which is going to be a big one….stay tuned!
