This past weekend I was in Vancouver, BC at the Interior Design West Show. It’s the largest celebration of design on the west coast. I joined a few other designers in Vancouver and we attended the opening party, which was a blast! Then the next day got a bit more serious and took in the showroom and a breakout session led by Certified Kitchen designer Corey Klassen (Vancouver, BC) and Interior Designer Judith Neary (Seattle, WA).
I like this show so much as it has a good mix of products as well as creativity from local designers. Overall it was a great few days and I wanted to share a few highlights that stood out for me.
Every year they have a Dinner by Design section that brings together local and global designers to create extraordinary dining environments. A few of my favourites were the “Nest” by Design LaB. It was so great to meet the beautiful and talented Alexis and she was so kind to pose with her design. (I apologize for the iPhone pics :))
I loved this one called “Crazy in Love” by Twenty One Two designs inc. The chairs were a gorgeous dark velour. Gorgeous!
How about this stunning table by Stephanie Jean designs called ” An Homage to the Hamptons” I would love this in my home!
Another great one from Live Edge Design Inc. “One Tree House” I love live edge tables.
I am in love with this carpet from Jan-Kath. Part of the “Erased Heritage” collection. Gorgeous!
Check out this lovely space designed by Gillian Segal Design which was part of the Open Studio design. So pretty.
How about his fabulous tile called Urban Avenue by Centura. Can you just see this in a funky restaurant or industrial loft!
The Alex Sofa from Montauk Sofa was the most comfortable thing I have ever sat down on! You can bend it and shape it anyway you want.
How beautiful is this brass and chandelier from Visual Comfort (Jacqueline Chandelier)
Ann Sacks Tile was at the show but we popped into their showroom the following day to see more tile. I was in heaven!
Looking forward to next years show already 🙂
