Life has been so busy lately and I anticipate it’s not going to slow down till mid spring! Yikes! I did however, manage to get a few decorations up for the holidays. Since we have a 9 month old puppy (that weighs about 70lbs) we decided not to get a Christmas Tree this year. I’m pretty sure it would have ended up in pieces all over the house, lol. I wanted something to put up though, so I bought an faux outdoor birch tree (I purchased at Canadian Tire) and used that instead.
I kept things pretty simple this year. I purchased a fresh cut wreath and added a few pine cones and a bow. I also had some faux boxwoods that came with lights so put those in some pots and put lights around my real boxwoods. I found the greatest battery operated led light strands at Homesense. I purchased a garland with lights at Michaels and that was it. The lantern is from Home Depot as well as the wreath.
We have a beautiful eucalyptus tree out in our front yard so I clipped some branches to bring in some greenery. I love how the leaves hang over the mantle and the colour of green looks so pretty with the white and it smells amazing!
I filled a ice bucket I had with greenery and some pine cones. So easy! I also made soap as little gifts and found these cute little sacks at Homesense.
For my dining room table I just added some eucalyptus branches to a tray and some decorations and that was it.
So that is it for my decorations this year. I love the mix of glam with the silver and nature from the branches and pine cones.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season!
