A few weeks ago I was cleaning up under the and I found an old solid wood door from when we did our basement renovation. I was going to get rid of it but then thought what could I do with it? I can always use more storage and I LOVE projects so decided to make it into a potting bench. Sorry I didn’t get a picture of just the door but here is the final build before I painted it. (don’t mind the bad photo) Those are my dogs in the background…the pup is growing so quickly.
I had the perfect place for it and wanted it to blend in with the surrounding bushes so I decided to paint it with Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint in Chateau Gray. You can use Chalk Paint outdoors just make sure you don’t use wax as it will melt in the hot sun. I have to say I really love the colour it’s a soft gray green and really pretty. Here it is all styled nice 🙂
We are going to put gravel down so you won’t see the rocks under the legs.
My basil looks like it has seen better days. 🙂
Super easy project and now I have a place to store some items for outside. It sits right beside the gate when you come into the back yard so I love the chalk board and will use it for messages when we have parties. I can even use this bench as a drink station when we have BBQ’s. So many possibilities 🙂
Have a great weekend everyone!
