CHOOSING BACKSPLASH TILE FOR BUSY GRANITE COUNTERTOPS

I have been so busy I haven’t been able to do much for new blog posts and it’s stressing me out!  I have so much I want to share as we go through out big renovation.

This is a repeat post but It’s a good one and since I am in the middle of choosing back splash tile myself I thought it would be good to share it again. 🙂

Thanks everyone for all your support and I hope to be back writing very very soon! xoxo

I love granite and how each slab is unique and there are some beautiful patterns and colourations available. If you decide to go with a granite countertop make it the star of your kitchen and choose the right backsplash.

One thing I always tell my clients is you can never go wrong with subway tile either ceramic or glass or marble (depending on the granite). I love the glass moda tile from Julian Tile. It comes in 9 different shades so it’s easy to find one that works with most granites.

Here are a few picks of good and bad tile choices…

This kitchen is from HGTV’s best kitchen countertops so maybe not the best backsplash. Please do NOT do this. I’m dizzy looking at this kitchen!

This kitchen is also on HGTV and this is what they should have done. So much better.

This kitchen has the granite backsplash as well as tile. Don’t do this! Always opt for no backsplash so you can tile right down the the countertop. Way too much going on here.

Look how much better this granite looks with the subway tile. It allows the granite to be the star 🙂

I love how the green granite brings out the green in the marble backsplash in this kitchen below. So pretty.

If you think you wants something other than subway tile then stick to one colour like cream or white. How gorgeous are these Moroccan tiles with the granite! See more of Karen Viscito’s Kitchens with this tile HERE

I’m really liking the look of open shelving in kitchens right now and the soft gray subway looks fantastic.

I hope this helps you when choosing your backsplash tile and what will look the best so you can love your kitchen 🙂

Have a great weekend!
